Fan Expo HQ Announces ‘Fan Expo Creator Academy’ Powered by The Kubert School

TORONTO, January 30, 2020 – FAN EXPO HQ and The Kubert School are pleased to announce a unique partnership that will delight fans by delivering the ultimate experience to creators across North America in the Fan Expo Creator Academy. The Kubert School, known worldwide for providing an exceptional education in cartooning and graphic art, has programmed the curriculum to engage artists and guests at FAN EXPO Dallas (March 27-29, 2020), Megacon Orlando (April 16-19, 2020), Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo (April 23-26, 2020), FAN EXPO Boston (August 7-9, 2020) and FAN EXPO Canada (August 27-30, 2020).

“We look at the world of pop culture fandom as an ecosystem. When we can engage and educate as part of our unique offering in top markets, it’s a win for everyone. Partnering with a trusted name like The Kubert School is rooted in collaboration and the drive for quality,” says Andrew Moyes, Vice President of Fan Expo.

Taught by seasoned professionals, the school will offer two different workshops as well as original programming for Fan Expo. The first workshop is a 2-day event for aspiring professionals who are looking to start off their portfolios on the right foot or who are looking to cap them off with a strong finish. The other is a workshop designed for those looking to start their journey as a comic artist. Additionally, The Kubert School will be providing original material for panels at Fan Expo Shows such as “Breaking into Comics The Kubert School Way” and “How to Draw The Kubert School Way: A Focus on Narrative Art”.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to be able to present a portion of our curriculum to students who might not be able to attend our full-time program,” says Anthony Marques, President of The Kubert School, based in Dover, New Jersey. “Cultivating the next batch of exciting new artists for this industry is key and we are so honored to carry on the legacy of Joe Kubert in which he set forth to do just that.

The Kubert School is proud to team up with Fan Expo and provide these classes as well as all new programming for their shows. We look forward to seeing everyone in 2020 and can't wait to create something new and wonderful!”
