For this special edition, films submitted to the Festival must deal with the global topic “Act on Climate Change”. Filmmakers from around the world can make submissions in their original language and our partner Dotsub will provide subtitles.  Films must be uploaded directly to the Mobile Film Festival website. Deadline for submission is September 28, 2015. For more information, including the rules of entry and to upload films go to www.mobilefilmfestival.com.

Since its inception, the Mobile Film Festival has continuously aimed to discover, support and assist directors following one simple rule: 1 Mobile, 1 Minute, 1 Film. A total of 100 films will be selected in competition. BNP Paribas will grant 30.000 € to the Grand Prix. This grant will be dedicated to the production of a film within a year. BNP Paribas Grant and all other prizes - Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Screenplay, Best French Film - will be awarded by a jury of international filmmakers on December 7, 2015 in Paris with special guests in attendance.

“We are very excited and honored to be partnering with the United Nations for this very special and international edition,” said Bruno Smadja, founder of Mobile Film Festival. “We want to give filmmakers from all over the world the chance to tell their story and their vision on Climate Change -- all through the inexpensive use of a mobile phone. We give the opportunity to a generation of creators to be part of a huge and global event to express their vision through all genres of films.”

“I am delighted that BNP Paribas is partnering with the first international edition of the Mobile Film Festival alongside the United Nations. BNP Paribas is a major supporter of cinema in France and Europe. In addition, through its Foundation, BNP Paribas supports a scientific research programme focusing on climate change. Being the partner of this first international edition is therefore very significant. I hope that, thanks to the festival,

budding filmmakers will get started and that through their short films, as many people as possible will become aware of climate issues” says Bertrand Cizeau, Head of BNP Paribas Group Communications.
