TIFF Rising Stars
The Toronto International Film Festival is pleased to present its next generation of TIFF Rising Stars. For the ninth year, the TIFF Rising Stars programme returns with a diverse crop of participants. This year’s Canadian and International lineup consists of: Canadian Rising Stars: Kacey Rohl, Mikhaïl Ahooja, Nahéma Ricci, and Shamier Anderson International Rising Stars: Josefine Frida, Geraldine Viswanathan, Chino Darín, and Kelvin Harrison Jr. Throughout the Festival, the TIFF Rising Stars programme will continue to showcase and develop the talents and careers of eight of the world’s most gifted up-and-coming actors.

Birks Diamond Tribute to the Year’s Women in Film
For the seventh year in a row, Telefilm Canada and Birks, have partnered to celebrate Canadian women in film during the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The 2019 honourees of the Birks Diamond Tribute to the Year’s Women in Film will be announced in the coming days. The seven Canadian women actors, directors, and screenwriters were selected by a pan-Canadian jury of 18 journalists, film critics and on-air personalities covering the world of arts, culture, and entertainment.

The CFF Canada Party at TIFF 2019
Hosted by the Canadian Film Fest, this is the ultimate, unapologetically Canadian party to celebrate Canadian filmmakers during TIFF. Guests of honour will include talent who have a film in the festival and Canadian filmmakers/actors (established and new voices) who have contributed to the film industry both north and south of the border. A strict “no posers, just hosers” policy will be in effect requiring all guests to check their egos at the door. There will be live DJs, classic Canuck food & drinks, Canadian craft beer and no VIP section. The plan is to put the cool back in a festival party in truly Canuck fashion.

UNIFRANCE’s French Night Cocktail Parties
In honour of French films screening at TIFF this year, UNIFRANCE will be hosting an invite-only cocktail reception with top French filmmakers and talent expected to attend.
